Important - Services canceled for two weeks from March 14th 2020

Due to the closing of all school districts by the governor, talking with Butch, and for the well being of the congregation, we will be closing the church for two weeks. This website will be showing the latest service broadcast via Facebook Live, which you can see every Wednesday and Sunday on our Facebook Page.

The office remains open at normal business hours. Father Mike and Amanda will be there if you have any questions. If you have any questions now, please call Amanda at home (828-738-9612) or email her at acook_sc@yahoo.com. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.

Welcome to St John's Episcopal Church!

St. John’s Episcopal Church is a vibrant spiritual Community with roots formed more than a Century ago. As the only Episcopal church in McDowell County, we are inclusive – we “WELCOME – REGARDLESS” and invite you to make St. John’s your spiritual home.

The St. John’s Episcopal Church, Marion, NC dates back to May 24, 1881, with the first two years of St. John’s, services were held in private homes and other church buildings. Since 1883 the church has congregated at the same location on South Main Street. We invite you take a closer look at our history on the history page.

Please also take a look through our site, and find out more about our Columbarium/ Memorial Garden and Labyrinth, opened in 2010, and our vibrant and ongoing minstries in the local community, including the Martha T. Simmons Food Pantry, serving over 200 local families per week, and the Pet Food Bank (opened in 2017) that helps feed over 100 animals on a weekly basis.

We invite you to find out more about our faith, and what our church is all about, and we actively encourage you to contact us if we can answer any questions, or be of any help.
